I am 43 years old, married to Armelle since 1997, we lived together since 1990 , our mariage has given birth to three amazing children, Marianne 14, Julien 10, Alice 7.
We all live together in the Normandie countryside, 20 km far from Rouen, 100km far from Paris.
I have had two main periods during my career which started after I was gratuated of one top french engineering school, esigelec :
First one is only taking place within small high tech companies and the second one from 2000 to now within France Telecom Group.
Let’s begin by the beginning, so in 1989,as I was trained as an engineer and as my speciality was robotics and artificial intelligence, my first job was development engineer in a spin off from IBM in Bordeaux where we developped electronics and software to allow cameras to drive robots. We were 10 young people from 24 to 30 years old, with an old guy- 45- coming from IBM and nobody was speaken about start up but it was exactly this spirit. We developped so many crazy machines to select automatically green beans or to put automatically some electronics components with automatics arms for Aerospatiale. It took place in the first companies nursery in France, in Cestas, 65 km from ocean, in a large maritime pin forest….it was not a dream but it looks really like….but my military period calls me back to another reality : I was enlisted as a scientific conscript in the French Air Force. I was in charge of a small team of ten people who developped air force stock control softwares for Djibouti with a lot of pressure to deliver it : it was during the first Gulf War. But I found the time to discuss with Air Force heroes, some incredible fighter pilots, and to play Rugby two or three time a week.
Then, my future wife found a great job in Paris so we decided to go there and I had a new incredible chance to be recruited as a project engineer in a subsidary of an Italian Group, Elsag (Electronica San Gorgio, Finmecanicca Group) which had just bought a small company in France specialized in optical caracter recognition (softwares and devices) in order to use their Italian technology in Electronics for image satellites and automatic sorting office. We were an incredible team with terrific powered people, one of them will become my associate five years later, was a Bejing doctor of science of mathematics and defined so many incredible mathematics concepts and so many powerful softwares that we have been able to developp so many incredible automatic machines : to compare automatically the qualidty production of banknotes during production for “Banque de France” to the first european automatic optical documents reader through scanners, it was in 1990’s. After a couple of year, because we had not real sales guy in the team, I became not also a project manager but the sales represantative of Elsage France.
Because our headquaters in Italy wanted us to integrate their own technology and because our business success were based on PC in network they decided to prohibit new sales includung PC, so I decided to leave the company with the idea to create my own business but I wanted at first to be sure of my sales capacity in an other environment before.
I joined a very small company I knew because we were used to integrate their products in our solutions : Opus Technology only do purchase and resale of data store systems, mainly optical storage, imported from US and Germany. They only do indirect sales and I was in charge to develop end to end solution….in parallel I began to create my own company with my chinese friend, Aclavis Techonology.
